Geplante neue US-Serien, Teil 2: Comedy

Nach all den Family-Reunions, Inavasionen, Transplantationen und Parksündern muss auch wieder etwas gelacht werden. Diese Pflicht dürfte durch folgende Serien wohl erleichtert werden:

The Station (Fox)
From the people who brought you: "Tropic Thunder"
Logline: A covert CIA operative and his workmates are embedded in a South American country and must navigate their mission to install a new dictator in this banana republic with its own unique set of challenges
Genial. Wird es wohl nie auf die Bildschirme schaffen. Ich weiß auch nicht, wie es als wöchentliche Serie funktionieren soll, aber das ist ja nicht mein Problem.

Mit Jason Biggs
From the people who brought you: "Arrested Development"
Logline: Comedy about a family that "loves too much"
Ausnahmsweise laut Beschreibung keine exzentrische Familie, aber das glaube ich erst, wenn ich es sehe. Mit Biggs ist auch vor der Kamera genug Talent vorhanden. Nach seiner gescheiterten Beziehung zu einem Apelkuchen hat er sich z. B. in Woody Allens Anything Else bewiesen.

Dass die Senderverteilung bisher so fair war, war keine Absicht. Schau, ich kann es beweisen: NBC hat nichts besonders spannendes geplant, ABC dafür umso mehr:

Mit Ed O'Neill, Sofia Vergara
From the people who brought you: "Just Shoot Me," "Frasier"
Logline: Three families living in the same suburb -- a traditional family comprising a working dad, a stay-at-home mom and three kids; another that includes a 60-year-old man who becomes a stepfather after marrying a Colombian single mom who is 30 years his junior; and a gay couple who have just adopted a Vietnamese baby -- through the eyes of a Dutch documentary maker
Muss ich nach der Logline noch was sagen?

Let It Go
Mit Lauren Graham (!!!!!!!!!)
From the people who brought you: "Will & Grace," "Two and a Half Men," "Arrested Development" (Egal.)
Logline: Self-help guru who teaches women how to "let it go" but ultimately fails to follow her own advice when her perfect boyfriend leaves her (Egal.)
Cougar Town
Mit Courteney Cox
From the people who brought you: "Scrubs"
Logline: Courteney Cox stars as a newly single 40-year-old mother with a 17-year-old son Bill Lawrences neue Serie. Nach Chaos City und Scrubs über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Die Logline reißt mich nicht vom Hocker, aber "junge Ärzte im Krankenhausalltag" hatte das auch nicht gerade.

Und weil's so schön ist, gleich noch eine, die aber auch meiner lebenslangen Obsession in Bezug auf Superhelden geschuldet ist:

No Heroics
From the people who brought you: "Will & Grace"
Logline: About a group of superheroes with less-than-formidable powers who hang out at a bar; based on the British format
Keine Ahnung was diese nicht so berauschenden Superkräfte sind, aber wenn sie sich dafür an einer Bar berauschen, dürfte alles glatt gehen mit dieser "Rette die Welt"-Aktion.

Fazit:
Ob mutige Experimente wie The Station, An American Family und No Herois, oder tolle Darsteller gepaart mit Topautoren, da kommt einiges auf uns zu. Falls sie die treffend bezeichnete "Entwicklungshölle" heil überstehen.
